Discovery Dance Program
Classes For Ages 2-3

First Steps - age 2

The perfect introduction to dance for your little one. This half-hour tap and ballet combination class will engage your toddler with songs, music, games and instruments while introducing them to the basics of tap and creative movement.

Tiny Tots - age 3

Our Tiny Tots classes are designed to allow your child to use their imagination and express themselves through movement and music, engaging your preschooler through songs, music, games, props and instruments. These classes focus on the basics of coordination and strength, while learning the classroom essentials.

Classes For Ages 4-5 (Pre-K)

Mini Stars Level

Our Mini Stars classes are designed to allow your child to use their imagination and express themselves through movement and music, engaging your preschooler through songs, music, games, props and instruments. These classes focus on the basics of coordination and strength, while enhancing gross motor skills (skipping, galloping, etc.), and introducing ballet basics (plié, tendu, sauté, feet and arm positions) and tap basics (shuffle combinations, paradiddles, traveling steps).

Classes For Kindergarteners

Kinder Stars Level

Our Super Stars classes introduces your child to the basics of Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop and Tumbling. The dance movements in these classes help develop coordination, rhythm, and imagination, and build on the basics, including right and left discrimination, counting music, and exploring rhythm through the use of the body. Teachers will encourage each child's recognition and memorization of basic dance steps in all disciplines. The individual instructions our dancers receive will give them the correct foundation and the "fun"damentals for their physical and mental development. This class uses fantasy and fun songs to encourage personality growth.

Rising Stars Level

CID's Rising Stars Program is specially designed for the beginning level 2nd-3rd grade student who wants to grow in confidence as they learn technique basics in a combination class. Rising Stars classes are the perfect introduction to the Academy program.

Jazz

Jazz is a form of dance that showcases a dancer's individual style and originality. Jazz is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns.

Tap

Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one's tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. As such, it is also commonly considered to be a form of music

Hip Hop

Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking. and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

Lyrical

Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. Lyrical dance challenges choreographers and dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancers' movements attempt to show the meaning of the music.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is a jazz-based class filled with Broadway style dancing and music. Classes incorporate the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage.

Level I/II Classes

CID's Level I/II Program is specially designed for the 3rd-5th grade advanced beginner dancer to grow in confidence as they learn technique basics through the grace of Ballet, rhythm of Tap, stylization of Jazz and fundaments of Hip-Hop and Tumbling.

Level II Classes

CID's Level II Program is specially designed for the intermediate dancer in grades 4- high school to expand a student's knowledge and performance skills. Classes will focus on pick-up techniques, choreography, rhythm & dance patterns and have an increased expectation of proper technique & musicality.

CID's Level III Program is specially designed for the intermediate dancer in grades 5-high school. Dancers will work to develop artistic expression, presence and understand intention in their dancing. Each opportunity is available at different stages in a student's dance journey.
